Spark Clear Aligner System

What Are Spark™ Clear Aligners?"

Spark™ Aligners are an alternative to braces that offer a comfortable treatment experience with highly effective results. This treatment modality uses a set of clear, removable plastic trays to move your teeth incrementally. Each aligner (or tray) is numbered and you will put in a new set every 7 days. These aligners are worn about 20-22 hours every day to achieve the best and fastest results and should only be taken out to eat/drink, brush, and floss. Spark™ Aligners may be removed for sports, are easy to clean, and allow you to eat freely. Furthermore, because they require fewer visits, Spark™ Aligners are convenient for anyone with a busy schedule!

Is Spark the Same as Invisalign?

While Invisalign is also a clear aligner system used for straightening teeth, Spark™ Clear Aligners have 6 key differences which may be very important to you when deciding which product is best for your journey to your desired smile! Various brands offer a clear aligner system but let us tell you why Dr. Miller uses Spark™ to treat his patients.

Material:

Spark™Aligners are made of medical-grade polyurethane resin with a patented material called TruGEN™ which is BPA, mercury, latex, and phthalate-free! TruGEN™ is designed to be more comfortable due to its high flexibility modulus resulting in a more comfortable and gentler feel for the gums. These aligners are more durable, more comfortable, and more resistant to stains. TruGEN™ also provides a more advanced sustained force retention and better contact with the surface (a fancy way of saying they are stronger!) This type of contact may conduct more efficient and effective results when compared to the leading aligner brand.

Comfort:

Spark™uses cutting-edge, 3D computer-imaging technology to create their aligners, but they go the extra mile with hand-trimmed and polished edges to offer the highest level of comfort. This helps to prevent irritation on the inside of your lips and gums and makes the process that much easier!

Availability:

While both Spark™Aligners and Invisalign offer transparent trays that gently move teeth, one major difference is often not mentioned – the certification of application. Many general dentists and orthodontists offer Invisalign. However, the Spark™Clear Aligner System requires a higher level of training and is therefore ONLY offered by orthodontists. This is why the Invisalign brand has a wider reach, making it a more well known name.

Stain Resistance:

The patented material that Spark™ uses for its aligners is designed to resist staining from coffee, tea, and other common beverages. Although aligners should be removed before eating/drinking, we know that accidents happen! Research has shown that because Spark™ aligners are more resistant to stains, a  more natural appearance stays for a longer period of time.

Transparency:

By using prints, Spark™ has created thinner aligners with their TruGen material also resulting in a more accurate fit. Thanks to the new and improved technology in Spark™, they can make a credible claim to have a more transparent look compared to other clear aligner brands. Because of their discreet look, we make it a priority to inform all of our Spark™patients to NEVER leave your aligners out of the case as they are easily thrown away or forgotten.

Cost:

The cost of your orthodontic treatment will vary depending on your individual needs and treatment plan. When you come in for your complimentary consultation our treatment coordinator will discuss with you the cost of your custom treatment plan and each available payment plan option, so you can make the best choice for you and your smile!
